Sports fans are in for a treat during the rest of February, with the upcoming schedule packed with a host of top-class events taking place before the end of the month.

Let’s not waste another second and take a closer look at what’s in store, starting with a championship decider that has drawn plenty of attention from another major sport.

Super Bowl

All eyes will be on the Super Bowl on Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs battle to be crowned as this season’s NFL champions. The latest NFL odds rate the Eagles as the team to beat in the big game, but the talented Chiefs should not be underestimated this weekend.

The Super Bowl has inevitably sparked interest from elsewhere, including from several top players who ply their trade with Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. The group took part in a hilarious NFL Teammates Challenge, which should have boosted their spirits for another massive sporting event taking place this month.

Champions League

UEFA’s top soccer competition returns next week, with 16 clubs still dreaming of getting their hands on the prestigious Champions League trophy at the end of the season. The Premier League is well represented as Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City have all made it through to the last 16.

Three of that trio should progress to the quarter-finals, with Liverpool the most likely to exit the competition after being drawn against reigning champions Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich feature in the tie of the round, and the Bundesliga champions look a good bet to knock out the big-spending French outfit.

Six Nations

Rugby Union’s Six Nations championship got underway with a bang last weekend and will continue apace with six more games scheduled to take place this month. France and Ireland both made winning starts in the opening round of matches, but England suffered a big setback as they were defeated on home soil by Scotland.

They have the opportunity to bounce back in the second round of matches at home to Italy, but their opponents will not be overawed, having run France close last weekend. The standout game over the next few weeks is the clash between Ireland and France on February 11 – whoever wins that game will probably go on and clinch the title.

Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships

Several of the world’s top players will be in action later this month as the 2023 Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships take place in the United Arab Emirates. World number one Novak Djokovic will feature in the men’s singles alongside Andrey Rublev, Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, and many more.

Three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray has accepted a wildcard entry into the event as he bids to climb back up the ATP Rankings. Murray defeated Fernando Verdasco in the 2017 final in Dubai and will be eager to show that he is capable of returning to the top 32-ranked players in the world.
