Harry Kane’s move to the Rekordmeister earlier in 2023 marked an end to his 19 years at Tottenham Hotspurs. He joined the London side as an Arsenal reject and left as the club’s record goalscorer with 280 goals. But, while his performance in Germany has been nothing but exceptional, it left us with a question and a comparison with Bayern’s previous goal machine: can Harry Kane take Bayern back to the highs Lewandowski brought?
Harry Kane’s Numbers So Far
Bayern Munich signed Kane from Tottenham in August 2023, and he became the first transfer involving a Bundesliga club that cost more than 100 million euros. His impact was immediate; he scored a goal and provided an assist on his Bundesliga debut.
Since then, he has scored a staggering 21 goals in 15 games in the league and 25 goals in 22 games in all competitions. His figure in the league is already higher than ever managed by any other Englishmen on German soil. He had five assists in the league and three more in the Champions League. The two figures tally up to an astonishing 33 goals involvement in 1,878 minutes of playing time, meaning that Bayern would score a goal with Kane’s involvement every 56 minutes of game time.
How High Lewandowski Managed To Fly
During his eight years in southern Germany, Lewandowski scored 344 goals and provided 73 assists in 375 games for the record champions and won them eight Bundesliga titles, three DFP Pokals, five DFL-Supercups, one Champions League, one Super Cup, and one Club World Cup. He also played a pivotal role in the team’s historic sextuple in 2020, creating a goal every hour of game time on average.

Therefore, while Lewandowski’s records and numbers may be matched by Kane, his contribution to Bayern’s greatest era will surely be insurmountable. Furthermore, it has to be stated that Lewandowski joined Bayern for free at the age of 26, four years younger and 100 percent cheaper than Kane. Kane will certainly bring trophies to Bayern, but not to the extent they managed during Lewandowski’s era.
Bayern’s Chance Of Trophies In 2024
While their dominance in the league is being threatened by the invincible Bayer Leverkusen, one can never write off Bayern Munich in any competition. This football club is a winning machine and would rather spend to win than save up to lose. Bayern’s chance of winning the league or the Champions League is as high as it usually is, and you can exploit we88 and change your belief into money!
Bundesliga
In the premier division of German football, Bayern Munich are currently trailing Bayer Leverkusen by four points. But the last two times they were not leading the league going into the 2018 and 2019 winter breaks, they still managed to win on both occasions. Sure, Bayer Leverkusen is a strong side under the management of Xabi Alonso, but Bayern Munich would not simply give up on extending their record of 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles.
Champions League
Bayern are dominant in the Champions League group stage as ever, winning five and drawing one of the six matches. Their unbeaten run in the group stage is extended to a six-year run spanning 39 games.

In the Round of 16, Bayern is drawn up against Lazio, who is struggling in 7th place in Serie A. That should be a cruise through to the quarter-finals, but they would have to prove their point against Europe’s finest teams before reaching the finals.
DFB-Pokal
Bayern was already eliminated from the DFL-Pokal at the hands of lower-league Saarbrucken in a disappointing result of 1-2.
Conclusion
Harry Kane’s first half-season in Germany has been exceptional, to say the least, and Bayern Munich is still the team to beat in both Germany and Europe. While he still has the chance to help Bayern win trophies, it is unlikely for him to help Bayern dominate for years like Lewandowski did, at least not as long as eight years.
