His origins

Ryan Garcia was born on March 13, 1998.  He is 18 years old and has a record of 5-0 as an amateur boxer.  After dominating the amateur circuit in 2015 with unparalleled success, he is now on his way to achieving more in the professional ranks under the guidance of his father and trainer Ruben.  He has also become somewhat of a social media sensation with over 132k followers on Instagram while still in high school.

Garcia attended Rio Americano High School before attending the University of Southern California (USC) on a full scholarship to study business management. At just five foot six inches tall Ryan Garcia weighs 130 pounds but that does not stop him from being able to compete with fighters that are several inches taller.  He is an incredible athlete that has knocked out all of his opponents so far with what many consider to be “one-punch knockout power”.  Garcia is training with his dad, Ruben who has been instrumental in grooming him for boxing greatness.

Ryan Garcia’s dad and trainer

Ryan Garcia’s dad and trainer is the right-hand man in his boxing career, Ruben. It is not clear how old Ryan Garcia’s dad is but he knows how to win, training both of his boys with the goal in mind to be world champions.  He has always stressed all three pillars of boxing–technique, power and strategy–as being equally important when doing so.

He has been in charge of training Ryan Garcia for at least five years now, putting in about four sessions a day on average. Before this, he was also working as a dog catcher before deciding that it was time for him to take up boxing professionally.

Who is ryan garcia wife

Ryan Garcia has not yet married but is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend Sophie. He has two children with her, Tyler and Jayden.  He also has two older sisters, Ryan Garcia Jr and Ryan Garcia III that were born to him and his mother who use to be a police officer.

Ryan is known as one of the most likeable fighters coming out of the amateurs. He is always smiling and does not let fame or money change who he is or how he relates to people.  He seems to enjoy spending time with his family but also likes to indulge in some of the finer things in life such as traveling and spending time relaxing at home when not boxing.

His awards

In 2016, he became the youngest member of Team USA’s boxing squad at age 20 and won his first major title as an amateur with a unanimous decision victory over Carlos Adames. After winning gold at the London Olympics in 2012 and silver medals at both the 2015 World Championships and 2017 World Championships, Garcia turned pro in 2018.

Only amateur boxer to accomplish over 200 wins in 5 years, including the Golden Gloves Championship.

There are not many young boxers that have been as successful as Ryan Garcia. He has a very promising future ahead of him and we can’t wait to see what he does next!  One thing is for sure, with his father Ruben in charge, the sky’s the limit.
