The WWE superstar Dean Ambrose has a wrestling career that is truly incredible. The past few years have been filled with highs and lows, but Ambrose’s passion to wrestle never faltered. Let’s take a look at his journey from the independent circuit to becoming one of the biggest WWE stars today.

Early life

Dean Ambrose was born Jonathan David Good on December 7, 1985, to his parents Mike and Vickie. He attended St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio before graduating in 2003. While he was attending school, Dean played soccer alongside the future WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler.

Dean enrolled at Indiana University where he majored in marketing before cutting his time there short to pursue a career as a pro wrestler.

Wrestling career

Ambrose grew up with a love for wrestling. His mother and father were both wrestlers, and he was completely dedicated to following in their footsteps. When his parents found out that Dean was interested in becoming a pro wrestler, they sent him to Shawn Michaels senior year of high school.

He had a successful career as Jon Moxley until he signed with WWE in 2011 after being contacted by Triple H on Twitter. Dean debuted at Survivor Series that same year where he lost to The Miz but won against Seth Rollins later that night.

WWE career

Dean Ambrose’s career in WWE started when he was contacted by Triple H on Twitter. The WWE superstar has been competing in WWE since 2010 and his wrestling career is truly incredible. It took him a while to get his first break, but once he did, he quickly made a name for himself. He won four Intercontinental Championships and two Money In The Bank matches while also being the final man eliminated from Team Smackdown during Survivor Series 2016 before winning it back a month later when they switched brands again this summer.

Ambrose also holds the record for holding the most reigns as WWE World Champion, which is a combined 12 times. He is currently tied with Randy Orton and The Rock.

Ambrose in the media and his charity work

The WWE superstar is not only successful in the ring, but he has also been successful outside of it as well. Dean Ambrose is a philanthropist and has been working with charities such as Make-A-Wish Foundation and Operation Smile.

His recent work with helping those facing cancer has been noteworthy as well. He launched into his charity work during his first year at Indiana University after meeting a girl that was diagnosed with cancer and needed bone marrow donation.

Dean Ambrose also focuses on the needs of other children through organizations such as Toys For Tots and Boys & Girls Club of America. He often visits hospitals to spend time with children who are receiving long term treatment for serious illnesses or injuries.

Why did he leave WWE?

In 2016, Dean Ambrose left the company with no announcement as to why. In an interview shortly after, he said that his departure was a “mutual decision.” He confirmed he had not been fired and said his heart wasn’t in wrestling anymore.

When is Dean Ambrose return 2018

Dean Ambrose is set to return in January 2018. He’ll be back on WWE TV to kick off the new year. There’s no word when he’ll return to in-ring competition.

Conclusion

While Ambrose has done many incredible things in his wrestling career so far, it hasn’t been without its struggles. In 2014, Dean was injured after he collided with a teammate during a WWE Live Event in Richmond, Virginia. He tore his right triceps and had to take some time off.

He returned the next year at SummerSlam where he was defeated by Brock Lesnar after suffering an attack by Jon Stewart, Seth Rollins, and Kane. Dean Ambrose has gone through many ups and downs in his wrestling career but still remains one of the WWE’s best stars today.
