On Monday, April 8, the first tournament of the “Masters” series on clay in the current season will start in Monte Carlo. After their trip to the USA, the leading tennis players in the world will return to European courts, where they will compete for substantial prizes, ranking points, and the trophy. Install the Melbet apk and place bets on upcoming tennis matches (as well as other sporting events).

Who is considered the main favorite for the Monte Carlo Masters tournament according to bookmakers? Last year, this tournament was won by the Russian Andrey Rublev. Moreover, in the final, he played against the young Danish player Holger Rune. Bookmakers didn’t even try to imagine a similar scenario for this season. They limit themselves to assessing the chances of the top 4 players to win the trophy.

Super Bowl LX Odds: Betway Insight on Seahawks vs Patriots

February 6, 2026

This is how the list of tournament favorites in Monte Carlo looks according to one major bookmaker.

Carlos Alcaraz – 3.00

The world’s third-ranked player, Carlos Alcaraz, had an unfortunate performance at the Miami tournament a week ago, being eliminated in the quarterfinals. Nevertheless, bookmakers believe in the 20-year-old Spaniard. He is often referred to as the heir to the “king of clay,” Rafael Nadal, although Carlos plays equally well on any surface. Perhaps a few additional days of rest compared to Medvedev and Sinner will work in Alcaraz’s favor.

The fact that he should at least reach the semifinals looks almost certain. It is at this stage that Carlos could potentially meet Novak Djokovic.

Jannik Sinner – 3.80

Italian Jannik Sinner looked invincible in the first three months of 2024 but then lost in the semifinals in Indian Wells, precisely to Alcaraz. This defeat did not affect Sinner at all. After that, he consistently won again, which helped Sinner win the Masters in Miami. Moreover, the Italian tennis genius destroys all his opponents on the court, often winning sets with scores like 6:1 or 6:2. The only drawback for Jannik is that he does not play his best on clay, preferring hard surfaces. However, with the level of tennis he exhibits, he can win on any court.

Novak Djokovic – 4.00

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has become the oldest leader in the ATP rankings in history. He is a living legend of tennis, and every match of Djokovic becomes a significant event. Djokovic did not compete in American tournaments, so he needs to perform as well as possible in Monte Carlo to maintain his top spot in the rankings.

An additional advantage for Novak is that last season, he was eliminated in the round of 16 at this tournament. In other words, Djokovic gets the opportunity to add ranking points if he advances to the later stages of the competition.

Daniil Medvedev – 15.00

Daniil Medvedev has been a finalist in almost all major tournaments lately. However, he suffers defeats in these finals. For example, in 2023, Medvedev lost to the Dane Rune in the quarterfinals. This ended Medvedev’s eight-match winning streak; previously, the Russian had reached the final in five consecutive ATP tournaments, winning four of them. Rune reached the semifinals of a Masters category tournament for the second time in his career. Nevertheless, bookmakers have decided to include him among the contenders for the title. After all, sooner or later, the “finals curse” should be lifted. As for other contenders for the title, one can agree with the analysts of bookmaking companies. With Alcaraz, Sinner, Djokovic, and Medvedev in the mix, even reaching the final for someone else would be a huge sensation. Rafael Nadal continues to miss tournaments due to injury, and other tennis players do not maintain such a high level. These are the realities of men’s tennis in 2024.
