While prop bets get found in any sporting event, some of the most memorable have been in the Super Bowl. You may have your standard prop bets, like who will score the first touchdown or which team will win the coin toss. Unusual Super Bowl Prop Bet

For many seasoned and beginner gamblers, the Super Bowl is a big moment. Millions of eyes are on the game, and thus, millions of dollars are getting gambled. In Super Bowl LVII, there was a total of 50.4 million people in America alone who bet a combined 16 billion dollars on the game. This excessive number meant that between the bets made, there was a lot of money for an individual or individuals to make. But while most bets get placed on who would win the overall game, a variety of interesting prop bets have been placed in the mix through the years. Some examples from the most recent Super Bowl include the following.

  • What color will Rihanna’s first outfit be during the halftime show?
  • Will Doritos or Pringles have the first TV advertisement?
  • What will be the length of the word “brave” in the national anthem?

You could make these bets with over/under and options. But this Super Bowl was not the only Super Bowl to feature interesting prop bets. All Super Bowls have them. ranked here are sports betting sites that offered ridiculous markets over the years and here’s a look at some of our favorites.

  • Pink (singer) hair color (Super Bowl 52)
  • Number of Donald Trump tweets (Super Bowl 52)
  • How often will “dab” or “dabbing” be said by the announcer during the broadcast? (Super Bowl 50)
  • How many wings will Buffalo Wild Wings sell on Super Bowl Sunday? (Super Bowl 50)
  • Whose girlfriend will Fox show first? Aaron Rodgers or Ben Roethlisberger? (Super Bowl 45)
  • Will a punt hit the scoreboard in Cowboys Stadium? (Super Bowl 45)
  • What color top will Kim Kardashian be wearing at the Super Bowl? (Super Bowl 42)

These are legal bets that anyone can place a wager on and possibly money if they come out with the correct answer.

What is the Purpose of Prop Bets?

Prop bets do not get much coverage as most gamblers will place their money on the big prize, which will be the game’s outcome. But people place bets on these prop bets to make money from them. If they place a wager on a prop bet, many more experienced gamblers will do so as more of a fun time or potentially to make some side money. To offset the money, they may potentially even lose in the more significant wager. Beginners will look at them as a low-stake wager, something fun that will not cost the person much money. Over the years, the prop bets have expanded and, in some regard, gotten more interesting, as the previous section demonstrates. Nonetheless, they are available for any player and could at least be a fun way of gambling. Also, in the end, regardless of their strangeness, they are still a viable means of making money in the gambling market.

Why Does the Super Bowl Have so Many Prop Bets?

All major sporting events, like the NBA championship or the World Series, have prop bets. The Super Bowl gets a lot of attention because it’s one of the top broadcasts of the year.

Many people are watching, and lots of money is getting passed around, so more side events, like anything with significant attention, will occur. In this case, it is prop bets.

Conclusion

Prop bets have been around for a long time and will continue to be around, and the Super Bowl will continue to be a significant attraction for prop bets. For many, these are the main event; these are the bets that they believe will make them a lot of money. The big gamble on the game may be too risky, but if someone does the proper research and makes careful bets, it is not impossible to walk away with a hefty sum of money.
