PS5 and Astro Bot
Sony has released sales figures for the PlayStation 5 and its popular platformer Astro Bot. As of September 30, the total number of PS5 units shipped reached 65.5 million, with 3.8 million units shipped in the last quarter. This is down significantly from last year’s 4.9 million units shipped in the same period.
PS4 and PS5 game sales totaled 77.7 million copies in the quarter, up 10.1 million from last year. Of those, 5.3 million were Sony exclusives. The share of digital game sales reached 70%, up 3% year-on-year but down 10% from the previous quarter.
Team Asobi’s Astro Bot, released on September 6, is also showing impressive results, selling over 1.5 million copies in nine weeks. The platformer has received high marks from critics and became the highest-rated game of 2024 according to Metacritic.

The PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is already in a fairly stable state. It does require a PSN account to play, and Nixxes has no plans to remove that requirement.
