Gervonta Davis’s boxing career

Gervonta Davis is a 21-year-old professional boxer. He was born 9 years ago in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been boxing since he was 12 years old.  He came out of the sport at just 14 years old, after being held back by his mother for becoming an amateur. At the age of 17, he returned to boxing and made waves with his sheer power, even knocking down opponents with one punch.

Gervonta suffered a loss in his first professional fight, but he came back strong with two more devastating wins. However, in all three of these fights, Gervonta was knocked down by his opponents. This is not an entirely uncommon occurrence for young boxers who are still gaining their balance and learning to deal with the heavier gloves used in pro boxing.

Gervonta’s most recent fight was against Jose Pedraza, who currently holds the IBF belt at super featherweight (130 lbs). Gervonta won this fight by TKO in the 7th round. He has also fought Linares and Balansagana.

Gervonta Davis’s accomplishments

Gervonta Davis is still fresh on the scene, but he is already making waves with his blistering power and unbeatable stamina! He has won an impressive 10 of his 11 fights so far by knockout or TKO. His current record is 19-0 with 18 of them by a knockout or a TKO. His one loss was to the experienced Diego Magdaleno in January 2016, but he avenged that by beating him in their rematch in November 2016.

In his latest fight, Davis defended his IBF super featherweight title against the undefeated challenger Liam Walsh. He won by a TKO in the third round, after putting his opponent on the mat for a 10-count.

How much did Gervonta Davis make

Gervonta Davis has made an incredible $3,700,000 for the duration of his career thus far.

What he was like as a child

Gervonta Davis was not always a boxer. When he was little, he used to go to school. He did not like boxing at first because it is hard work and his mother did not want him to do it. But when he got older, he went back to boxing, and now people are saying that he has some serious power!

His first fight and the mistakes he made

Gervonta Davis got his first fight when he was 13 years old. He was a small, skinny fighter who didn’t have much boxing ability. This is because he had been amateur for a short time before going back to boxing as an amateur. He also lacked any power in his punches and stamina.

How his new trainer, Virgil Hunter, helped him become a champion

After Gervonta Davis’s first loss, he found a new trainer named Virgil Hunter. Hunter helped Davis with his boxing technique and stamina.  Davis sparred with Andre Ward at the beginning of his career and got some advice from Ward that made all the difference: “When you see the guy across from you, you’re not fighting him, you’re fighting what he has done to your family and friends”. Davis was no longer an easy target and fought hard in every round.

Conclusion

Gervonta Davis is a new boxer on the scene, but he’s been making waves with his power and stamina. He has won 10 of 11 fights by knockout or TKO! In this article we discussed how Gervonta Davis was able to get back into boxing after his first amateur experience ended short, as well as some of his more recent accomplishments in pro boxing.
