Alexander Zverev is a professional tennis player who was born on October 28, 1997 in Hamburg, Germany. Currently ranked third in the world, he’s considered by many to be the future of men’s singles tennis. He won his first ATP title at just 18 years old and has been a member of the ATP Rankings top 10 since May 2017. This young tennis player has so much to offer. How old is zverev

Zverev was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany to a tennis-playing family. His parents were both professional tennis players and he has three older siblings who each play the sport professionally as well. He began playing at age 7 and competed in his first pro tournament at age 11. His family emigrated from Russia when the USSR collapsed, leaving behind their friends and relatives for a better life in Germany.

Zverev’s mother Olga comes from an aristocratic Russian background and his father Alexander is a German who immigrated to Germany after finishing law school. At age 12, Zverev played at the Clay Court Championships in Houston and qualified for the main draw of a WTA Tour event in Doha two weeks later.

What are his current rankings and awards?

Currently ranked third in the world, he’s considered by many to be the future of men’s singles tennis. He won his first ATP title at just 18 years old and has been a member of the ATP Rankings top 10 since May 2017. He’s considered by many to be the future of men’s singles tennis.

How much does Zverev train?

Zverev is in the gym six days a week, training for between six to eight hours per day. He’s an all-around fitness fanatic who also goes running or does another exercise for between two to four hours each day.

Zverev spends his time in the gym doing physical training, strength exercises, cardio, medicine ball throwing drills, and punching bags. Apart from tennis, he also enjoys playing golf and ice hockey. He was heavily into pro ice hockey before deciding to devote himself solely to tennis at age 14.

Who did he compete against?

Zverev has competed against some of the best in the world and held his own. He beat Roger Federer for the first time at age 19 in the semifinals of the Montreal Masters, which was Federer’s first loss after 36 consecutive wins on hard courts. He also upset World number one Rafael Nadal in three sets at this year’s Madrid Open.

Zverev defeated Novak Djokovic to win his second Masters title of 2017 at Indian Wells, becoming only the third teenager in history to have won two Masters titles before turning 20 years old.

Personal life apart from tennis

Zverev still manages to find time outside of tennis for other hobbies. He enjoys playing golf and ice hockey, and is an all-around fitness fanatic who goes running or does another exercise for two to four hours each day.

How much money does he make?

He has made $5.7 million in his career so far, including $2.8 million in 2017 alone, which includes his Master’s titles. In 2016, Zverev had career-high earnings of $2 million. Zverev is worth about $7.5 million.

Alexander Zverev is a prodigy in the world of tennis. With his talent on display against some big names like Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal, it’s no wonder that many predict him to be one of the best players in men’s singles tennis going into 2020.
